60's Vintage Handmade Flapper Style Paper Dress Size S
Vintage Handmade Flapper Style Paper Dress Size S
A throwback to the design fad of the 60's with this cellulose paper dress. Styled as 60's does the 20's with the typical style of Roaring 20's Flapper Dress. Individual rows of paper sewn to a fiber backing that runs throughout the dress.
We believe this was made in the 60's as part of the craze created by the Scott Paper Co. But more likely handmade as a costume for an evening party or period party for the 20's. The eye and hook closures don't seem to match with the 20's style. A ribbon belt is attached at the waist and made of a more typical rayon or rayon like fabric.
Authentic, and carefully crafted. Two side eye and hook closures. A wide neckline detail of 4" and sleeveless bodice. The dress is intact and could be worn. We certainly don't recommend it, this being more of a collector item for the 60s fad,
A tear at the left armpit, and some minor fraying and small pin prick holes are evident. Overall the paper and attaching sewing are in great condition. The dress measured flat is: 14" across the neckline, 15" across the bust, 14" at the natural waist, 15" and the hip and 39" long from the shoulder.
Unique and rare for its design and detailing.
Owing to the material of this dress, we did not clean it or treat it, and it was not professionally cleaned
